I am linking today from Kelly's Korner to ask for prayer for my brother, Joel. He is a childhood survivor of ALL Leukemia. Joel is our walking miracle and was in remission for 20 years when he was diagnosed two months ago with Mylodesplacia due to chemotherapy he endured as a child. We were told in February that Joel has 6-9 months to live if he does not receive a bone marrow transplant. My brother has a rare protein in his DNA that makes it difficult to match him. We pray for peace for Joel and our family during this difficult time. We also pray for the potential transplant donors and their willingness to donate blood saving marrow. Thank you for praying for Joel. If you are interested in becoming a bone marrow donor, please visit be the match.org.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...................
Today there is supposed to be a "catastrophic" ice storm here in our state. Kind of scerrry....the hubs and I are both working from home and staying warm inside with our pups! I have seen pics from grocery stores that show no bread or milk or water left! My hope is that the electricity doesn't go out....I am hoping to take this opportunity to catch up on blogs and watch TV!
As for now, my laundry is caught up for the first time in forever and my house is clean - that in and of itself is such a treat!
I will post soon with our "scrapbook" of our trip to Chicago last week so that I can remember what we did on our week off.

So......
I've joined the rest of civilization and have purchased an I-Phone. I must say I am obsessed and am addicted! I am hoping that the camera and automatic syncing the phone does when plugged in my computer will help me blog more often. And while I am not having new year's resolutions, I am going to try and journal our lives on a more regular basis.
So here's to a great 2011 and more blogging in the future!

Sooo....it's been a long time and I've been horrible at "Scrapbooking" our lives for this blog which was my original intention!
I have also forgotten how to have an html made on flickr for a pic - so if anyone can remind me of how to do that - leave me a comment! I would greatly appreciate it!
Since the holidays, we have been staying busy but a number of great things have occurred - the hubs was promoted, I am starting a different job that will make my life SOOO much easier with my upcoming practicum in the fall, I turned in my very last 20 page paper - yahooosk!!!! - and Spring is officially here - which makes everything wonderful when it's 70 degrees outside - thank you Lord!
Attached are pics of the hubs celebrating his promotion with a red velvet cake, a picture of my friend Kia and I visiting over Christmas, and a pic of my brother and I celebrating his bday and a pic of Adam enjoying delicious Sushi for V-day!
I have this summer off so I will definitely be blogging regularly!

Hello family and friends!
We are so glad that you have come to visit our blog! We hope you all had a wonderful 2009! 2009 was an amazing year for us. We started this blog in 2008 for our wedding and since I (Laura) am not a scrapbooker, I decided to continue the blog as a means to chronicle our lives. My hope each year is to have our blog entries bound into a book.
The highlights of our year include:
* Placing our membership with our church family at E91
* Joining our lives together in marriage - we are so BLESSED!
Below are a few of our favorite professional pics - we haven't gotten our album yet but are happy with what we have so far!
* We had a wonderful, restful honeymoon in Hilton Head June 22 - 29
* Adam is still playing hockey with his Indy hockey league and is going to be signing up for the Indy mini-mararthon - so cheer him on in the next few months of training - he'll do great!
* Laura became a stylist for Stella and Dot - an amazing jewelry company that has been tons of fun!
*As for work and school - we are staying busy!
* Adam is still traveling and working hard with his accounting firm and studying for the CPA.
* Laura completed her 1st practicum in Spring 2009 working with adults with MR and mental illness and is now on her last semester of classes at IUPUI. She is set to graduate after her 8 month practicum in May 2011.
* Our pups are happy and healthy as are we - we hope you all are doing well and let us know what's new!
Love,
Adam and Laura

Adam and I took a little one day trip up to Chicago to visit our friends Darc and Greg Brumley for their baby shower! They are expecting a little boy on 2/19/10 and we cannot wait to meet him! Darc and Greg will be such great parents and they grin from ear to ear with anticipation! Darc looked great and it was great spending time with them.
Here are a few pictures of our gift - I loved the basket - it matches our bedding and bedroom so I wanted to keep it for myself but thought the baby might need it more - ha! Fischer of course had his nose in everything! I also loved the little feet on this outfit - adorable!
On our way up, we stopped at Adam's favorite store - the holy grail of fishing and outdoor goods - I took a pic outside - Adam about wanted to die from embarassment! I think over time he will get used to my new blogging obsession - or let's hope!
We also made a stop at Costco and I grabbed a new beverage dispenser which I have been wanting forever - they are so expensive but I found this one for $35 - I was pumped! I am thinking this will really come in handy for shower hosting in the future!
Here is a picture of the soon to be mama and me:
(Doesn't she look great - hope I can look like this while prego one day - (far far away that is!))
Here is a pic of the hubs and I:
And here is a pic of the proud parents to be and Adam and I:
And then, the fellas got involved in a little baby bottle contest - the hubs did a fantastic job - I'm so proud - what can I say....ha!
It was such a fun shower and now we are home! I am off to finish my very last paper this semester - yahooosk!

I had to show my one piece of Christmas decoration this year - I know, I know - call me Screwge (that is how you spell Screwge right? - anyhooo....) - but all of our Christmas decorations are packed in storage and if you saw the storage unit - you too would agree it would be best for safety's sake to stay far, far away!
So here is my Christmas tree in my office....notice the glittery high heels and purses on the tree - I LOVE it - my hubby would say it's gaudy fabulous - which is just how I like it!
Check out The Nester's Tour of Homes 12/14 - I can't wait!

Thanksgiving seems like weeks ago now with all of the snow and Christmas decorations! Now that school is coming to an end for the semester, it's time for a little bit of digital "scrapbooking" - or at least that's what I like to think I'm doing - ha!
Adam and I went to Nashville to visit Adam's family (and mine too:)) and we had so much fun - it was restful but also filled with a lot of laughter, a hockey game, flea market, and yes, Grandpa and Grandma (that's Adam and I by the way - no grandparents were harmed in this event) went out with the much younger and energetic Scott and his friends. We had a blast but ended up sleeping in until 11:30 the next day and were not ready to leave the house until 2pm - what can we say - we are a little out of practice.
Here is a picture of Fischer with his "Grandpa" - I love this pic - just cracks me up with my father in law who is a very manly man with this little dog!Deep down inside, I know he wants a little Fischer too (right, Dad? - ha!)
Here are a few pics of the Nashville predators game:
And here is where the trouble began.....
and here is Adam with Dad - they look so alike here!
and here is Scott and us - he was such a trooper to let the 'ole folks tag along!
We had a great time and can't wait to return in a few weeks for Christmas - this time the fam will be complete with Adam's brother and our sister-in-law which is always special because we get to see them once a year at this time!
We are very blessed to have such wonderful families who love us so very much and make holidays and birthdays extra special!

I came across this AMAZING blog today that I found over at Kelly's Corner - it is called The Nesting Place - and it is a dream come true! When I found that she explains how to do "window mistreatments" that involve not sewing, I was in hog heaven! I am a nerd I know, but I have always wanted matching pillows and window treatments and this site explains how to do everything you can ever imagine wanting to do on a limited budget using ordinary household items - without sewing! I LOVE it! She is also such an inspiration because she and her family have moved 13 times in the past 13 years and have rented and owned homes - so she has great ideas for everyone! The above picture is an old door that she painted and hung an old chalk board on that she had found at a yard sale - now that's having vision!

Two things -
I made the most NUMMM chili recipe this evening adapted from Roni's Green Lite bites - I used only ingredients we had so it was very loosely based on Roni's Chili bake (mine was just the chili - not a bake), and I was soo happy b/c my creativeness worked - usually random recipes don't taste this good - it was fantastic and the hubs agreed! I didn't take a pic b/c we were so hungry we just wanted to eat and I couldn't locate the camera.
The recipe was:
1 lb. lean ground beef, 2 tbsp. cocoa, 2 small cans tomato paste, 2 15 oz. tomato sauce cans, can corn - water drained, pickled jalapenos chopped up, and an array of cumin, cilantro, garlic powder, and chili powder. Brown the beef, add all the ingredients, bring to a boil and simmer for approx. 20 mins. - enjoy!
On another note, I randomly saw that my favorite Stella and Dot necklace was in this month's glamour - LOVE IT! So I attached a pic here - it is also below in the post on my launch - host a party girls and get it free!

Today was my launch party for my new endeavor, Stella and Dot! It was such a great experience and I am so excited about my new project! I have been looking for something fun to do since after the wedding, and I love jewelry and girl time so this is the perfect fit! All of the S and D designs are totally my taste so it isn't a hard sell for me - LOVE it! Today's launch garnered me about $200 and I have booked a few new parties so I am PUMPED! Adam is now on board too because we are going to try to buy furniture for our future house with the earnings - hopefully that equals a lot of furniture!

Ever since I can remember, birthdays have been a huge deal in our house and I know they have been in Adam's family too - it is so nice to feel so loved on the day of your birth, and our families always make that day so special for us! Here are a few pics from my family celebration at a Sushi restaurant I love here in Indy - Kona Jack's! I again forgot my camera (blogging is completely new for me!) so I used my camera phone. I have a pic of my gramma who I love so very much, the hubs and my bday cookie! Thanks to my amazing fam near and far!

Halloween is my favorite time of year - maybe it's the candy, the fall leaves - or a chance to dress up our pups! So with further ado - here's our little monkey and witch! (As a side note, please excuse my matted hair - it was pouring outside and has been for a few days here!)
